Each Barracuda Family is asked to select 3 "Volunteer Jobs" during registration. This page will help you decide which jobs interest you, prior to signing-up. 

NEW for our 2026 Season 

• We have two opportunities to volunteer outside of Swim Meets: Practice Parents & End-of-Year Banquet. 
• Swim Meets: Additional help gathering swimmers for our 10 and under events.
• Swim Meets: Swimmer Registration Table Attendant

Here is a complete list of Volunteer Job Opportunities & their descriptions:

• Practice Parent: Please see sign-up if you would like to opt-in to being a designated volunteer for a specific night of practices. Parent Practice Volunteers will help the coaches monitor the swimmers in the pool and discipline misbehaving children as needed. You will sign up for this role for all Mondays, all Tuesdays, all Wednesdays, or all Thursday practices. Those choosing Tuesday or Wednesday practices will be responsible for both May and June practices and therefore do not need to volunteer for swim meet responsibilities.

• End of Year Banquet: Please arrive early (5PM) and stay until the end (9PM) to ensure we have help with setup, serving food and cleaning up. This counts as one meet volunteer responsibility. The banquet will be held Thursday, June 25th at the pool. 

HOME MEET JOBS:

• Meet set up: Set up the swimming deck - get diving blocks out, set up the lane lines and banners, move lounge chairs, put up tent canopies. (Older swimmers also help with this). Put out traffic cones on one side of the street.

• NEW: Swimmer Registration Table Attendant: Greet each Barracuda Swimmer and make note of their arrival for the coaches. Help them mark their arm with their swim event information, as needed. Clean up the registration area at the start of the meet.
• Bracelet Awarder: Give out participation bracelets to all swimmers - YES all ages would like to receive a heat winner bracelet. This job is split into first half and second half shifts, so you'll work one half of the full swim meet. 
• Child Gatherer: Gather the swimmers (ages 10 and under) for their events. This job is split into first half and second half shifts, so you'll work one half of the full swim meet. Ideally, we will have three gathers assisting the Clerk of Course during each shift. 
• Timers: One of the most important roles at our away and home swim meets! Parents are provided a stopwatch and taught how to time the swimmers. Each lane will have two timers, both writing down the time their stopwatch records. Those times are averaged together for the swimmer's official swim time. This job is split into first half and second half shifts, so you'll work one half of the full swim meet. There are head timer positions, too, responsible for keeping an extra timer for any timer of a lane who has a stopwatch malfunction.
